Baseball Player Evaluations Sat. March 2

Baseball Player Evaluations (tryouts) for Minors and Majors Divisions will be held on Saturday, March 2 at Mile High Little League Field, 725 Juan Tabo Blvd. in Albuquerque

The Player Evaluations are mandatory for baseball players who are league age 9-12.

“League age” refers to your child’s age on Aug. 31, 2024. All baseball players who will be 9 years old by Aug. 31 must attend.

Any child who is league age 8 and wants to play in the Minors Baseball Division must also attend tryouts in order to be considered for a Minor Division team.

The Player Evaluations on March 2 WILL BE FOR BASEBALL PLAYERS ONLY for the Minors & Majors Divisions.

This player evaluation session is NOT for softball, Tee Ball, Rookies (machine pitch), or teenage divisions.

Please arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the start time for your child’s age group. We will start checking in at 11:45 a.m. for 11 & 12 year olds and begin at noon.

Check in will start at 1:15 p.m. for 9 & 10 year olds and any 8 year olds who want to play minors, we will begin at 1:30 p.m.

During the player evaluation session, players will run the bases, field ground balls and fly balls, throw, and bat.

WHAT TO BRING:

Your child does not have to wear a baseball uniform (though it’s OK if they want to), but they should dress appropriately to run around and play ball: athletic shoes or rubber cleats (metal cleats are not allowed), baseball pants or loose-fitting pants like sweatpants, etc., and don’t forget about the weather! Please dress your child appropriately for whatever curveball Mother Nature may throw! Your child should bring their baseball glove. If they have their own baseball helmet, it’s OK to bring that; if your child brings his own bat it MUST BE A USA BAT. Be sure their name is on all of their equipment. And don’t forget to have your child bring water or something to drink!
